The war raging in Syria nowadays wasnt always there. Ask someone who has spent some of their best days in that blessed country. It only took a few weeks of living in Damascus to get a good taste of the politics of the place. President Bashar Asads picture was everywhere, headshots either in a full army uniform with all his medals and honors pronounced on his chest. He looked far off into the distance. Another was his rougher picture in a camouflage army uniform sporting vintage sunglasses. In Sid Zaynab, his picture was often paired with pictures of Iranian President Ahmadinejad and Hizbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. In Damascus, Asad strictly appeared alone, or with his father, Hafez Asad.
