This book is about my trouble with the geographically diverse land of Nigeria; I grew up in. Lagos – the former capital of the country. Lagos is the fifth most populous city in the world, with a population more than London, Tokyo, Moscow, and Mumbai. It is one of the largest cities in sub-Saharan Africa. Lagos was originally governed as a British crown colony but later became a part of the Gold Coast Colony, which is modern Ghana. Its name is derived from a Portuguese imposition of ‘Lagos de Curamo’ because of its topography marked by wetlands and a network of lagoons. This state has played a significant role in the economy of Nigeria and has served as a commercial and economic hub with up to 29 Industrial Estates and 4 Central Business District’s bank that forced me out of my home with the blessing of the government. Read about the backstage politics of this city I called home for years.
