“The Long Journey” by Denys Nshimiyimana is an autobiography that discusses the most catastrophic and brutal phase of his life. During the Civil War and Internal feuds in Rwanda, Denys was one of the few refugees who were able to survive by sheer luck. Eating grass and having to sleep under dead bodies for the sake of survival wasn’t an option, but the only way out. The story of Denys is full of suspense as he shares many of his struggles he had to face and overcome for the sake of survival. He had two choices that could change his life forever. He could either become one of the victims of the Civil War, which erupted on a mass scale in Rwanda, East Africa. Or he could run for his life, leave everything behind and face every challenge on his way to have a fresh start.
